GROWTH PLANNED AS THE FUNDING CORPORATION ACQUIRES COUNTY LEASING AND FINANCE LIMITED (SWANSEA) - 1st April 2005

The Funding Corporation Limited (TFC), the largest independent finance company in the UK, acquired County Leasing and Finance Limited on 1 st April 2005. The acquisition will allow County to provide the base and framework to develop and grow a UK-wide contract hire and leasing business based on County’s successful regional model. County will continue to be based in Beaufort Road, Plasmarl, Swansea.

“This is an exciting move for us and for County Leasing and Finance. TFC is an established, profitable and fast-growing organisation, and recognised as being a fabulous company to work for. Our products and reputation are highly-rated, and we welcome County’s team aboard,” said Jim Rowley, Managing Director of TFC.

“County is very good at what it does, and we plan to use the business’ expertise and experience to take its range of motor finance, contract hire and leasing products to a much wider national audience. All TFC’s contract hire and leasing will be channelled through Swansea,” he added.

The acquisition of County, along with North East-based Benton Finance, also owned by NM Rothschilds Banking Group, adds £70 million worth of loans business to TFC’s book, and underpins its commitment to the motor finance market.

Pink car goes to raffle


Cancer research charity Tenovus has had a bright pink car donated to its annual fundraising raffle by a Swansea vehicle finance specialist. County Leasing & Finance, based in Beaufort Road, Plasmarl, delivered the new Honda Jazz yesterday.

It will be offered as first prize in the 2004 Tenovus National Raffle, which this year will be in aid of its breast cancer Pink Ribbon Campaign.

David Richards, managing director of County Leasing & Finance, said "We are delighted to have been able to help this wonderful effort by Tenovus to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Campaign."

"In particular, my colleague Jeff Joseph has worked extremely hard to help support the Tenovus campaign."

Director of fund-raising at Tenovus, Sarah-Jayne Williams said; "We are really grateful for the support we have received from County Leasing & Finance to promote our Pink Ribbon Campaign.

"This year alone, 40,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer - everyone of them is someone's wife, mother, sister or friend."
